Count Down!

Can't believe that it is nearly that time already. Every year I promise myself that I will get organised and get ahead of the game. Christmas does I think get earlier. I saw my first Crackers at Halloween along side the scary costumes and masks and the fireworks for Bonfire night. Too early!

Thanks to sales of my bobbins on ETSY I have managed to get quite a few presents already. Arran of course wants Tranformers. We are finally organising his room with storage so he can display them.

Arran and I are already thinking about finishing up topics for the holidays and  have started planning our Christmas crafts . Every year he likes to make an Advent calendar complete with chocolates. The important bit
.
We are also learning about the rich history of our village from the tribes in Roman times including the famous Boadicea to the Anglo Saxons and the Normans. The church down the lane from out house is a wonderful example. There has been a church on the site since Anglo Saxon times. The first recorded clergyman was in 1168. Some parts of this period remain in the foundations and North wall. It has of course been altered over the years and is now as it was since 1700s. The tower is wooden and quite often bats can be found flying around the church at night.

We have also been working on his blog. Thanks everyone who has been logging in. It means alot to a kid like Arran. It has turned into a bit of a competition between us. We were neck and neck for viewings but Arran has really pulled ahead. Most are from America but they have viewed from all over the world. I have used this to show Arran where the countries are on the globe. Education and he does not even know it!

Getting ready for our annual visit from the Home Education Guy. We have been lucky so far as the two people that have visited have been very supportive of our curriculum and of Arrans progress. For him it was the right decision.
We also have a letter saying that we will get an appointment for him to be tested for Aspergers. This could take up to four months.

Hollie busy at collage. She is loving every minute of it. She has more gigs coming up which she is assessed on. The next is a singing one for Christmas. It is so nice that she is happy. Well done to her for getting her grade four on the drums. She is already well on the way to the next grade which she wants to get by next summer. Hopefully she will then be on target for uni.

We sadly lost our hamster Dope. He has a stroke. He was fairly old. So sad when a loved family pet goes.
